The use of inductive sensors is particularly suitable for determining a position as well as the force and torque.
Inductive sensor technology is based on the change of properties of a coil under the influence of geometric changes, which allows the use of eddy current effects (e.g., in-force sensors) or phase shifts between the signals of several individual coils (e.g., in position sensors). The evaluation methods developed by AST for these effects enable maximum precision and insensitivity to external interferences. Inductive sensor systems have the overall advantage of being insensitive to moisture, making them suitable for use even under adverse environmental conditions.
