Capacitive sensory
Capacitive measuring methods are used for measuring the fill level of liquids, classifying liquid media, and determining pressures.
Capacitive sensing is based on a change in the properties of a pair of electrodes (generalized plate capacitor) with variations in their environment. To this end, geometric effects (e.g., in capacitive distance measurement) or changes in material properties (e.g., in fill level sensors) can be used. The evaluation methods developed by AST for these effects permit maximum precision and insensitivity to external interferences. Capacitive sensor systems have the advantage of enabling very high resolutions. At AST, capacitive methods are mainly used for the fill level measurement of liquids, concentration measurement of non-conductive liquids, and high-precision distance measurement.
